We are so excited for the upcoming year as we work hard and learn together. There are lots of exciting and fun things planned for the year ahead- so let's get started!
This half term we will be focusing on Geography looking at settlements and trading in our global economy. We will be focusing on London as our main case study and comparing it to other key settlements around the world. In science we will be learning about electricity and how it powers our lives and global communication.
This half term in Year 4 we are historians and Romans! We will be learning about Ancient Rome and about all of the wonderful inventions and traditions they gave us- many of which we still use today! By studying the question; "Why were the Romans so Powerful and What Did We Learn From Them?" we will explore many areas of Roman life, from the early invasions and spread of the Empire, to sports, leisure, and entertainment! We will end our learning with an exciting 'Roman Day' - so start practising the bedsheet togas!
This half term in Year 4 we are musicians and sound engineers! We will be learning about the science of sounds and pondering the question 'Why is Pop Music Enjoyed By So Many?" From classical music to Elvis and the Beatles right up to our modern favourites we will be looking at the development of music and how the sounds reach our ears.
As part of this topic we will be designing and making our own drums- so start collecting your materials now ready for the end of the topic!
Shoot for the moon.
Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars!
