Are you ready to ‘Level Up’ your reading…?

We are very excited to announce the launch of Reading Racetrack! A new, school-wide competition to encourage, support and motivate reading at home.

At the bottom of this page you can download a ‘racetrack’ for your child. Every time they read to you or another adult at home/in school you can sign and date a square on the race track- this can be done online so it does not have to printed. ‘Reads’ must be at least 2 pages long and can come from any source. For example; the Reading Planet books online, any other reading for pleasure books you have at home, or information leaflets and news articles.

Key Stage 1 pupils (EYFS, Y1 and Y2) will use this racetrack:

Key Stage 2 pupils (Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6) will use this race track:

When your child has completed a full race track, send a picture to their class teacher so we can celebrate together. Then, when every member of their class has filled at least one track, the whole class will earn a special prize!

We will be keeping track of your achievements with our exciting new display created by the talented Mrs Weryk! A Mario-Kart inspired board for our classes to race on!

Once you have completed one racetrack, you can simply download a new one and start again!

These racetracks have been designed to help keep track of reading at home and create some friendly competition between our classes! While we are learning from home, these will take the place of our normal reading records. They should only be sent to the class teacher when they are completed, there is no need to send them daily.

We hope this competition will encourage everyone to keep reading at home! May the best class win.

On your marks… get set… GO!
