At St Clare’s we use the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds programme to teach early reading.  The long term plans for EYFS and year 1 are below.

As pupils move beyond phonics, we teach the further reading skills of wider decoding skills, comprehension and responding to the text.

From mark making in EYFS, our writing curriculum is mapped out to ensure progression in grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and composition.  The long term plan is below.

Spelling is rigorously taught using the No Nonsense Spelling programme.  The long term plan for this is below.
